Today is a day for things, just things. I’m going to ruminate all over the place with nothing really major in mind except for the first one.

Jill Meagher

My heart goes out to her family, friends and co-workers. This has been a tough time for them and will continue to be tough for a while longer. I’m sure many people out there understand what they’ve been going through, nobody wants to have that kind of understanding.

Libraries in unexpected places

If you’re in Melbourne Central there’s a library you need to check out. It’s only small and is based on an honour system but looks like a lovely idea. You can read more about it here. Next time I go I might take some books for it.

Migraines suck

I woke up yesterday with a killer of a migraine, getting out of bed was the hardest thing in the world. Started getting better in the afternoon after breakfast at 1:30pm with a couple of voltaren. I suspect having my head in the wrong position all of Wednesday for the Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) Services was possibly a bad idea. Looking down at the prayer book all day might have caused it so I’ll have to look at changes for the future.

Next week

This coming week will be interesting. I’ve won a double pass to a conference on Thursday, Friday and Saturday then we’ve got a garage sale at our place on the Sunday. I’m not sure when I’ll find time or even energy to do much on this blog next week so I’m very grateful to Squid Ink for his contribution on Thursdays. They want us to be there at 8am on Thursday morning for those people who’ve never been to this conference before. 8am! in East Melbourne! At least I think it’s East Melbourne, I’m going to have to look it up and do something called planning; do I drive or take public transport?
