I’m just joining Teaser Tuesday.
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
“They clustered now around The Mended Drum in Filigree Street, foremost of the city’s taverns. It was famed not for its beer, which looked like maiden’s water and tasted like battery acid, but for it’s clientele. It was said if you sat long enough in the Drum, then sooner or later every major hero on the Disc would steal your horse.”
Terry Pratchett does have a unique sort of humor in his books, doesn’t he? My teaser is from Knightley Academy by Violet Haberdasher. Happy reading!
I’ve just popped over to your blog. You’ve certainly given me something to think about. My To Be Read Pile is massive and growing faster than I can read but I do like your teaser.
Nice Teaser. I’ve been meaning to read a Terry Pratchett book for awhile now. Is there one you recommend I start with?
Please check out my teaser over at Restless Reader.
Enjoy!
That’s a really good question and I’m not certain I have a definitive answer. My favourites are the Bromiliad trilogy (Truckers, Diggers, and Wings) which are about Nomes and also Going Postal in the Discworld series. I’m thinking maybe this could become a whole article so I’m trying to keep it brief.
This sounds really intriguing! My teasers are at The Crowded Leaf.
I’ll have to come back to your blog another day, you seem to read totally different books. Sounds fun!
Lol! 🙂
My teaser is here, if you want to take a look: http://abookblogofonesown.blogspot.com/2010/06/teaser-tuesday-2962010.html
Greetings,
