Reading Challenges 2021

Suzie Eisfelder

I had such fun with my Reading Challenge in 2020 I’ve decided to embark on three challenges this year. Yes, three. It’s not going to be as challenging as it sounds as there’s a lot of crossover.

The three challenges I’m doing are

The 2021 Nonfiction Reader Challenge. Hosted by Book’d Out you can sign up until the 1st December 2021. I’ll be doing the Nonfiction Nipper where I’ve chosen to read 3 books from any category of nonfiction.

Book’d Out has 12 categories.

CATEGORIES
  • Biography
  • Travel
  • Self-help
  • Essay Collection
  • Disease
  • Oceanography
  • Hobbies
  • Indigenous Cultures
  • Food
  • Wartime Experiences
  • Inventions

The Australian Women Writers Challenge hosted by Australian Women Writers. I’ll be aiming for the Stella where I will read four books by Australian Women Writers and need to review at least three of them. They don’t give a list of categories or writers to try, but I think I’ve got this one covered.

Dymocks Reading Challenge for 2021. This is one where you don’t have to sign up for anything, you can just read and note the books you read.

It sounds really hard to add another seven books to my reading challenges on top of the twenty six that Dymocks suggest, but it’s not really. When these crossed my desktop I figured I could just double up. The book I’m currently reading is by an Australian Women Writer and has a blue cover. That means I can use it for two challenges: the Australian Women Writers Challenge and also Dymocks Reading Challenge. And the anthology I reviewed last week also counted for the Dymocks Reading Challenge.

This is my formal sign up post. Once this is published I need to do the other paperwork such as putting the link for this article in the Linky.
