Introducing Teddy by Jessica Walton, Illustrated by Dougal MacPherson
Introducing Teddy by Jessica Walton, Illustrated by Dougal MacPherson

It’s always a lovely surprise to receive a book but to receive one like this is even more lovely. This came into my P.O. Box yesterday and I read it with pleasure…there aren’t many books like this around.

Teddy knows in her heart that she is a girl, not a boy.

Will her friends understand?

Will they call her Tilly instead of Thomas?

This is the sort of book that should have been around for ages. It’s a very brief introduction to the world of transgender and that’s really all a young child needs, the rest comes later but for now they just need to know to accept and to be accepted.

While this copy was published thanks to people like me who backed the project on Kickstarter you’ll be able to buy your very own copy in June next year as Bloomsbury will be publishing it then, keep an eye on their Facebook page for more details. I suspect they’re making some changes but hope they’ll only be minor ones. As you’ll notice in the photo I have four very special cards illustrated by Dougal MacPherson, you can buy your own cards or phone covers on RedBubble.
