Looking for B in female science fiction authors I came across an interesting thought. I have a book which I refer to for this kind of thing, The Illustrated Book of Science Fiction Lists, put together in 1982 before we started being really proactive about female authors and in the first 20ish pages I found three female science fiction authors, Ursula leGuin, Anne McCaffrey and Kate Wilhelm. I figured I’m going to have an interesting time finding people to write about this time. It took me about half an hour to find anyone with the letter B I could potentially write about, much longer than even the most challenging letter in the corresponding male science fiction authors list. Wish me luck, folks as I’m determined to write about someone for every single letter.

Lois McMaster Bujold is an acclaimed American speculative fiction author having won the Hugo as many times as Robert Heinlein. I’m not convinced she’s written a lot but what she has written has been rather influential. Bujold has a website, it’s a fairly plain website but has all the information you need including lists of books and some free ebooks. Her fanclub is dedicated enough to run a Facebook page for her which is pretty awesome and they post frequently.

If you check out her Facebook page you’ll find they link to this Gizmodo video which has some bits of Bujold about in vitro gestation. If you want to interact with the author, and bow down and worship directly, I suggest you go to GoodReads for that. If you’re desperate I can also be found on GoodReads but I don’t do much there.
