My brilliantly aptly named new series continues. Where I randomly select two books from my shelves and attempt to find a link. I do not promise it will be a good link, only that it will be a link. It might be anything at all. One thing I do promise is that the link will not be due to the books both containing words such as ‘and’ or ‘the’, although having said that it’d be really awesome to now find two books totally missing both of those words.
The books I chose last week were It’s Locked in With You by Gael Mayo and Pook in Business by Peter Pook. Stay tuned to find out if I’ve actually got a link.
The Books
It’s Locked in With You by Gael Mayo has been on my shelf for so long I have no idea how or when it got there. First published in 1968 and cancelled at the Hawthorn City Library, I’m suggested they were selling it off and I bought it on spec because it looked the type of book I read back then.
Pook in Business by Peter Pook is a book I remember thinking ‘I’m interested in this series’ but I now can’t remember why. It’s autobiographical in that the author, John Anthony Miller, wrote some details into his book, and the rest in the series, from his own life to make it seem more authentic.
The Link
I have not read either of these books in such a long time very little remains in my memory banks. The link I’m going with today is that they’re on my shelf but they’re not going to be on my shelf for much longer. Neither of them seem to be worth very much on the second hand market and I can only find one or two copies for sale.
