Today we have Farrell’s Bookshop in Mornington. I’m encouraged by how generous bookshops are. They let me have their photos not knowing how I’ll use them.
Looking at these photos settles me. Bookshops are very special, they are an entry into many different world. And there is something about books that make feel better. If you want to explore this feeling enter a bookshop and see how it makes you feel.
‘We’re feeling optimistic and grateful at how many wonderful books are still coming across our shelves (especially Aussie books). What better way to be reminded of the beauty in our own world, and our own backyard, than to dive into a book – something our local community seems to be relishing at the moment. A common phrase we’re hearing right now is “there’s no better time for reading”; an idea we agree with, wholeheartedly.’
You can find them on the internet here and the real shop at 143 Main St Mornington 3931.
Whether you’re a bookseller or a reader I’m happy to feature your bookshop, or your favourite bookshop on Friday Photos. Please take a photo of the outside and three or four photos of displays within the shop. Go to the Submit Your Book page and email me the photos along with a few words about your shop. Answer a question to help me write a few words: What is your favourite thing about this shop? (Can be multiple things)
