“The nature of our loss.” She smiled. “You would have made a poet. They say the Maghreb is a land of poets. Of fountains and palaces, stark mountains and lush orange groves…”

Friday was an important day for Harry and Ron. They finally managed to find their way down to the Great Hall for breakfast without getting lost once.

There’s a reason I’m reading this particular book. I’m doing an essay in class tomorrow. If you’re in Victoria you’ll understand it as a SAC or Student Assessed Coursework. We have to review a review of a book, movie, CD or whatever. What’s important is the review. We’ve been told it’s best to choose a review we don’t agree with. I’ve looked high and low and couldn’t find one review I disagree with. I finally thought about Harry Potter as I generally disagree with reviews about this series and I wasn’t disappointed, found a review in minutes. I do hope it gives me enough material to get 800 – 1,000 words. It’s been rather busy this week and so I haven’t managed to even finish the book. I have my SAC tomorrow. It’s going to be interesting.

The Dog-Man’s name is Guillaume, he helped me with the delivery yesterday and he was my first customer this morning. He had his dog, Charly, with him, and he greeted me with a shy politeness which was almost courtly.

I know this book is not one I’d normally read but the movie had Johnny Depp in it and that changes all manner of things.

But I had not much reason to fear either, for she was so entirely taken up with her present great concern, that she had no sense of attention to spare to anything else.

If you’re a regular reader you’ll be more than curious as to why I read Fanny Hill.  Sometimes curiosity gets the better of me and when I came across this book I just had to pick it up.  I’ll be writing a few words about it someday this week, the challenge will be to write about it in a ‘G’ rated blog.

It’s hard to do teasers for such a well-known book so instead I’m going to take the responses from one particular character on one particular book.

Rosencrantz: To what end, My lord?
Rosencrantz (aside to Guildenstern): What say you?
Rosencrantz: My lord, we were sent for.
Rosencrantz: My lord, there was no such stuff in my thoughts.

Sam realised she had a valid point. He and Yetta were married in 1933 and honoring his new wife’s wishes, relocated to Melbourne.

This actually isn’t my current reading book, I haven’t even started it and may not get there for a while but it’s a very important book to me. The people mentioned in the quote are actually my grandparents and the book is about the fashion industry that thrived in Flinders Lane for many years. If you can get hold of the book you can even see a picture of them, I suspect Grandma was very pleased to have as many lovely clothes as Grandpa would give her, she always loved to colour co-ordinate. By Lesley Sharon Rosenthal it’s a book I absolutely need to have on my bookshelf.

The aide’s eyes darted across the littered room, now a dripping mess. She could see that the doors at the far end were going to give any second. She could see also that the ambassador was bracing for his own jump. Before he could order her a second time, she stepped into the escape slide.

Teaser Tuesday: Something Fishy – Shane Maloney

Yes, I know it’s technically Wednesday but it’s Tuesday somewhere in the world and I did a memorial to Norman Hetherington on Tuesday…and I’ll just finish off then slink off and do something unobtrusive somewhere else.

As for me, I’ve done nothing wrong. I’ve signed nothing so I can’t see how I can be implicated.
