Mondayitis – Tyffani

Today’s Mondayitis is the delightful Tyffani. Yes, we actually have a real person for you.

What do you read?

I read mostly sci fi and fantasy, but I’ll read anything with a good storyline and a lot of action.  I usually stick to adult, but there are some YAs that I’ve gotten into like Twilight and the Hush Hush series.  My favorite books are The Princess by Lori Wick and A Long Fatal Love Chase by Louisa May Alcott.  Huge fan of Ted Dekker…The list is endless.

Why do you read?

To escape.  I’m very much into escapism…lol  It’s also why I write.  If I go too long without reading my writing suffers and lags.

Do you read for work or for pleasure and is there any difference between the two?

I read for pleasure…my job currently doesn’t require much reading.  I don’t think there’s much difference, is there?  Reading is reading.  Unless it’s not a good book, in which case it’s torture.

Do you read to your kids or to someone else’s kids?

I do not have any kids to read to, but I WILL read to my children and anyone else’s children who will listen.  I was always read to as a child.

Can you do the Safety Dance while reading?

I think I could, yes.  I’m sure it would be quite entertaining to anyone watching.  haha!!!

Are you a rabid Discworld/Twilight/Harry Potter fan and would you attend a flash mob dressed as your favourite character?

I am a big Twilight fan and I’m working my way through Harry Potter which I love.  Never heard of Discworld, but I’m going to look it up now.
I grew up in Tampa, Florida where I lived for 18 years and 2 days.  My family then moved to Greenville, South Carolina where I attended some college and then went off to film school in Texas.  I now live in Charleston, SC with my fluffy little dog, because I am not a cat person. =)  I discovered my love of reading the summer before I went into sixth grade and I discovered my love of writing in sixth grade.  I am now 25 and plan to self-publish my first book Scorned: A LeKrista Scott, Vampire Hunted Novel this year.  It is adult Urban Fantasy. You can read more about me on my blog or follow me on Twitter.
